NOTE: This tutorial is written for the supplies I used. If you are using something different, you may need to adjust some settings.

IPL = In Palette Layers

Let's Begin

In PSP, open a new image size 700 x 700. (you can resize later) Flood fill with white. Layers - New Raster Layer.

In your color palette make a gradient color. Foreground is  8fbcf3 and background is white. In Foreground click the gradient tab. Style = Sunburst. Repeats = 2. Horizontal = 50. Vertical = 100.

Fill your new layer with the gradient color. Now apply the Chrissy Chaos mask 36. Layers - Merge Group.

Paste, as a new layer, the snowflake frame. Keep it centered. IPL, right click and duplicate the frame.

Use your magic wand to click inside the frame. Selections - Modify - Expand - by 4. New Raster Layer. Fill with the gradient color you used for the mask.
(If you are not going to animate, paste as a new layer one frame from the circle snow.)

Select none. IPL, move the gradient/snow layer/s below the bottom frame layer.

Paste, as a new layer, your tube. I used the full tube and resized down to 85%. Give a light drop shadow. H & V = 1. Opacity = 50. Blur = 4. Color is black.

IPL, move the tube layer below the top frame layer. Use your lasso tool to trace around the tube's head. About from the earmuffs up. Now delete that part of the frame. Select none. You should now have it looking like your tube is coming out of the frame. (see my tag)

Add a light drop shadow to the bottom frame layer. H & V = 1. Opacity = 50. Blur = 4. Color is black.

Paste, as a new layer, the snowman. Move it to the lower left of the frame. Give it the same drop shadow you've been using.

Open your text box. Font is MonkeyHat Demo size 30. Stroke width = 1. Center Alignment. Leading = 0.099. Kerning = 30. Foreground color is c43365 and background color is ff92af. Type out HAPPY, WINTER, on two lines. Copy then delete. Repaste as a new layer. Place to the upper left of frame. (see my tag) Select All - Float - Defloat - Modify - Expand - by 2. New Raster Layer. Fill new layer with white. Select None. IPL, move the white layer below the pink layers. Give white layer the same drop shadow you've been using.

Add copyright.

If you are not going to animate, add name and merge all layers, save as png.

If you are going to animate continue....

For this you did not need to add the snow layer, nor do you need to add the name at this time.

Go to Layers - View - None. IPL, unhide all layers except for the frame fill layer, the mask and the white background layers.
Right click the top layer and merge visible. Rename this the top layer. Now hide this merged top layer.
Unhide the fill layer and the mask and background layers. Right click the fill layer and merge visible. Rename this the bottom layer. Unhide the top layer. You should now have only two layers in your palette layers.

Open the snow animation in Animation Shop. Back in PSP, right click then copy the bottom merged layer. Paste as a new animation in Animation Shop.
You will notice the snow has 10 frames. You need to right click the bottom layer and duplicate until it too, has 10 frames.
Right click the first frame of the snow. Type Ctrl a    Ctrl c. Now Click the first frame of your bottom layer and type Ctrl a   Ctrl e. Center the snow right with the round frame layer. Left click your mouse to set.

Back in PSP, right click the top layer and copy. Paste, as a new animation in Animation shop.
On the upper tool bar, or in edit, click the propagate paste.
Click on your top layer and type Ctrl a     Ctrl c. Click the first frame of your snow and type Ctrl a   Ctrl e. Carefully center your tag. Left click mouse to set. Go to View. Animation. If you like what you have then save as a mng file.

To add names, use the same steps you used for the top layer. Save as a gif.

Repaste as new layer. select all, float - defloat - modify - Expand - by 2. New Raster Layer. Fill with white. Select none. IPL, move white layer below black. Right click black and merge down. Rotate left 23 degrees. Add same drop shadow you've been using. Place name at the lower right of tag.
